beckie's bible verse of the week

 after receiving her first bible for her birthday rebecca decided she wanted to try to do a weekly post on my blog of bible verses she really likes.

today's verse is:

when i first started learning about christianity i was a little confused about what my roll is in this religion, but this verse helped me see that jesus doesn't need me to do anything but love! L.O.V.E. is what the christian faith all comes down to. therefore if you, like me, get to thinking you have to jump through all kinds of hoops to be a "good" christian just remember as long as you are loving to all and especially to god then you are leading a christ-like life.

 *fun project idea* i make bible verse cards (like the one picture above) and spruce them up with scrapbooking materials, stickers, handmade embellishments, etc. i display them lined up in an open box and change the front card periodically to show off one that  speaks to me or one that maybe i need to focus on in my life. it's a fun craft and it helps me memorize the good word. rebecca loves to make them with me and wants to feature them in her bible verse posts. you may feel free to print the photo of this verse's card and the cards to come so that you can collect them and make a bible verse box like mine!! :)

felicity goes to "work"

 i teach art at an elementary school (best job ever!) and at the end of the year i have parties for my best behaved classes. most of the classes wanted a movie/ pj/ toy party. so i brought felicity to school/work with me!!

we brought our matching pillow pets and our fleece blankets and made a cozy little pallet to watch the movies with my students.

we tried this mexican hazelnut candy that you eat with a tiny little spoon, it was yummy! 

in between classes we played on the computer. of course we checked out dolldiaries.com (my fav doll website)

hey look this is my felicity and molly on dolldiaries.com when we won a give away-- it's like they are famous lol!

felicity also met lots of new friends that my students brought with them!

the second day she came she met three amercian girls and had a great time getting to know them and their dogs.

felicity also got to join in with a small group of students that i meet with each month. i was reading toys go out to them. it is such a funny book... i highly recommend it! it's a whole series but this is the only one i've read so far.

felicity loved being a part of my daily life and seeing what it was like to be in my school. we even packed her a lunch.

i wish i could have my little pal with me everyday. it was so fun introducing her to my students, who of course feel in love with her :)



bff adventures: memorial day weekend

 memorial day is the official kick off for summer!!

deedee, emily, and molly are celebrating this holiday weekend with lots of outdoor play!

a day at the zoo

every year we go to the zoo for mother's day. this year felicity came too!

mommy's favorite animals are hippos and polar bears.

the polar bear at our zoo always puts on a good show for everyone :)

in this picture (below) it looks like he has a tiny head because the rest of him is under water hehehe

here is a baby giraffe celebrating mother's day with his mommy

this year we didn't make it to the lions and they are my favorite-- i was disappointed. but we did the ski lift ride over the african part of the zoo and i could see them really far out there. if you look closely you can see their little tawny bodies. 

 the new ski lift ride was really cool! i've never been skiing so hadn't ever had a ski lift experience. i was scared at first. plus i had the responsibility of taking my niece and nephew because they insisted on riding with me. i was super paranoid! but it ended up being so nice and pretty up in the air over the zoo.

 it was also cool being able to take pictures of the animals from above!

felicity and my favorite part was getting to see the red pandas! we have recently become obsessed with red pandas and were so excited to see them in real life!!

don't be alarmed-- this is only a poster of the red panda inside a tunnel, but it looks real huh!

here are the real ones. we got there just in time for feeding time!

i wana snuggle with him so badly!

 "he's so fluffy! i'm guna die!!"

i am in love with orangutans! with that beautiful fuzzy red fur and those big fat cheeks! and they are so peaceful and gentle.

 i wish the cages didn't have such tightly woven fences, it kept me from getting good pictures. oh well.

later an older orangutan was trying to make a hammock with this blanket and it ripped in half. oops. it was funny.

i love his big hands. they are so human-like!

monkey see, monkey do. . .

 the little baby is hanging just below and slightly to the right of the big male. do you see his little bitty hands?

look at this beauty! i love the animals in the asian area (the red pandas, orangutans and tigers are all there.). 

when we got back to mom's felicity told molly, deedee, and emily about the animals we saw. we bought 2 red panda stuffed animals-- one for her and one for me! :) felicity also got a cool framed picture of the polar bear. 

later that evening deedee and emily gave mommy her mother's day gift.

they gave her a mini addy! mom has a special place in her heart for addy. one reason is that she reminds her of the house keeper, anna, her family had when she was growing up. that sounds bad, but anna was sometimes more of a mother to her than my mom's own mother was. mom and anna spent a lot of time together and mom adored her. so it was a meaningful gift for my mommy.

bff adventures: now run along home and jump into bed

 molly was so excited to visit deedee and emily because she had just gotten an emily ag doll and she heard that my mom got deedee and emily ag dolls too!

when she got there she was surprised to see they not only got new dolls they also got a new trundle bed! it's so cozy with a soft blue and yellow quilt and matching bedding. they played the whole evening there with their new dolls (and kit which is their older ag doll). molly and emily admitted they thought it was funny to see a mini version of themselves. :)

when it was time to go home molly tucked deedee and emily into their new bed. they pulled out the trundle bed and slide into their quilts. at the foot of the beds they had extra blankets and quilts. that's where their doggies curled up for the night. all cozy and warm, they said their prayers and read a little then drifted off to sleep.

"night night, don't let the bed bugs bite" whispered molly.

now run along home and jump into bed
